Android App Repackaging

Every Wednesday, engineers from across Buzzvil’s teams get together to share expertise in areas that interest them and discuss new technologies related to their work. These sessions help us deepen what we already know, learn what we don’t, and bring that knowledge back to our work to make it more efficient and creative.

We explored the structure and build process of Android APK files, then discussed malicious attacks that can be carried out by repackaging them. This led to a review of our own vulnerabilities and a discussion of ways to build more secure apps. See the slides below for more details.
